Ingredients

  2¼ cups all-purpose flour
  1 tsp baking soda
  1 tsp salt
  1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  ¾ cup granulated sugar
  ¾ cup packed brown sugar
~ 1 2 tsp vanilla extract
  2 large eggs
  2 cups chocolate chips
+ ¼ tsp espresso powder

Steps

  1 Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2 Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.
  3 Beat butter and both sugars with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  4 Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla extract.
  5 Gradually stir in the flour mixture until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  6 Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets. Bake 9–11 minutes until edges are golden. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring.
