Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies

2¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
¾ cup granulated sugar
¾ cup packed brown sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups chocolate chips
¼ tsp espresso powder

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.

Beat butter and both sugars with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.

Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla extract.

Gradually stir in the flour mixture until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.

Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets. Bake 9–11 minutes until edges are golden. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring.
